PSL Captains 2020: Who is skippering the Pakistan Super League teams this year?

We have a peek at the Six PSL 2020 Captains, that will lead their respective teams at the fifth variant of this Pakistan Super League, which will commence on February 20 at Karachi.

Shadab Khan -Islamabad United

Following the retirement of Misbah-ul-Haq, the seasoned Mohammad Sami directed the two-time winners into the play-offs at 2019. However he went unsold from the 2020 auctions, paving the way for wrist-spinner Shadab Khan to take over the reins. Shadab, who's played with 40 T20Is for Pakistan, will charge on senior foreign internationals like Dale Steyn, Colin Munro and Luke Ronchi at a group that's otherwise filled with kids.

Sarfraz Ahmed -Quetta Gladiators

Of the PSL 2020 captains, Sarfaraz Ahmed is the most effective, with 26 wins in 43 matches. Sarfaraz advised Quetta to success this past year. He's captained the franchise in every one of the matches since the beginning of the championship in 2016. Under him, Quetta have made the last thrice, in 2016, 2017 and 2019, the last of which saw them raise their maiden PSL title.

Darren Sammy -Peshawar Zalmi

Sammy took over captaincy of this franchise in 2017, and has directed them into the closing in each variant at the helm. The group won the 2017 variant, but ended as runner-ups at the following two seasons. The affable all-rounder, that led West Indies into 2 T20 World Cup names, was kept by the franchise before this PSL 2020 auction and once more retains a solid opportunity to take his group all the way.

Sohail Akhtar -Lahore Qalandars

Fakhar Zaman took over captaincy of the negative in 2019, however, the group was not able to create the consequences under his direction, losing four out of five games. This may have prompted a change in leadership function, together with 33-year-old Sohail Akhtar replacement the left handed opener. Akhtar had a good outing with the bat at the 2019 year, but his nine innings had only one substantial rating of 75.

Imad Wasim -Karachi Kings

Having taken within 2018, Imad Wasim will last since the Karachi Kings captain at the upcoming version. The negative has won two matches and lost eight throughout his tenure, and his ambition is to further enhance that win/loss ratio because they seem to attempt to make it into the last for the first time.

Shan Masood -Multan Sultans

Shaoib Malik, who was leader of the franchise as their earliest appearance at the tournament at 2018, was not kept and has been snapped up Peshawar Zalmi from the PSL 2020 draft. Shahid Afridi was viewed as the possible candidate to take over, taking into consideration the expertise, but as shown on Thursday, February 6, Shan Masood, 30, will lead the side in the upcoming season. Masood played just four matches at the 2019 season, but his general expertise makes him a suitable candidate for the function.
